From the parking area, Greta Canyon was a bit of a hike. There was your average numbers of cars but by any stretch it was a less than busy(ier) day.

Leaving our city lives behind we (I’m referring to the partner here) headed to the Canadian Rockies. About a 4-hour drive south from the Edmonton area we set up shop at the Peter Lougheed Provincial campground.

We started this one early in the AM. And, noticed others airing at the trailhead and on their way out. We could only imagine how early they got up after we completed the hike 5-hours later.

Getting to the peak at Hai Ling was our second attempt. Last year, around this time, we reached the tree-line only to turn back after not having enough water with us.
